Crafternoon

Crafternoon is this event invented by a lovely friend Genie Uribe. We gather together and get our craft on. The first Crafternoon was making yarn Wreaths. I'm pretty sure everyone who attended has always wanted to make one but never got around to actually making one. So this was a great opportunity to get together/hangout and actually sit down and make one of these suckers. It was so much fun and I can't wait until the next time!
Here are some pics: (forgive the poor photo quality...again. it would seem that I am never prepared.)

i made some books

The thing I love about school is making things you probably wouldn't have figured out on your own. Learning. Obvious I know, but I am forced to finally make these things for a grade. My first Sketch Book Journal [class] assignment was to make a sketch book. I made two. One for me and one for m'girl Chanti. She is a huge supporter of my art, creative process and schooling. So it was only natural to make one for her. I decided it would be perfect for her birthday! tada! It came out beautiful. My class was in love with hers. holla.
I really enjoyed making these books, and I know I want to make some in the future for fawn/my shop [whatever it is shaping up to become]. Here are some pics from start to finish. Not as many like a step by step because....I was in class and then I look like a crazy taking pics the whole time.

forgive the quality of photo. I did not have my camera on me that day!

red case

I've been searching Etsy for a neat hard drive case...no luck. All the cool ones where for iPads and iPhones. I decided to make my own. I'm pretty pleased with the result..I'm going to try and make a small pocket on the front for the cable...we'll see if it works out. here are some pics.

Felt and Wire

I was mentioning to a friend a few days/weeks (not sure which) ago about these prints with lovely script, and for the life of me I could not remember who they were by. Wah-wah! I stumbled upon one of them online and followed many links and BAM- Felt and Wire. They're actually sold there but created by Tag Team Tompkins. So glad to have found it. I'm always playing with cursive, so this is definitely inspiring.  Check it out!

foxy

Hope your Monday has been smooth. I've been a little stressed, but what else is new. The stress derives from anxiety about my class assignments. lame. I had to use a new medium (gouache) and for some strange reason that was freaking me out. embarrassing.
I pray that God give me the confidence in my abilities on a regular basis. My small group [husband and family]  pray for me too, and they are very encouraging. Amen. Always good to have a support system!
I just completed my assignment for tomorrow morning's class and I feel antsy and cannot sleep. I am bit wired. lol I'm glad to have completed it though. I know I'll get enough sleep, which makes a huge difference in tomorrow's presentation! Wish me luck friends.
Here's a neat illustration I stumbled upon.
Enjoy. Stay foxy.

Ohhhh Chanti

Hey peeps! I had some photos of last night's dinner for Chanti's birthday...buuuuuuut I had to get my phone replaced and now i have ZERO photos. ::embarrassing::
Either way I had an amazing time with my lovely friend. We hung out with friends and family all night. Elaine made delicious food (seriously amazing tomato soup)! I took some leftover to work for lunch today. yum! I'm a sucker for soup. Anyhoo, I love my friend Chanti and I cherish her. She's been by my side like a sister. Thats a lot. Everyone needs a Chanti.
Here are some old pictures of us <3

btw, Tonight is the Sirens and Sealions album release party! They're making it big! So proud of them!!!

swag.

So... i cut it. Much shorter than I anticipated. lol I'm still happy though! I went to the Rik Rak Salon on Brickell. I cut my hair with Marcelo and it was a wonderful experience. The salon has a bar and boutique. Perfect for shopping, eating and getting pampered all in the same place. I would've never found this if it weren't for Danny. He got a deal where I can get a bunch of services done for a low cost. Best husband ever. Always thinks of me.

Here's my after shot:

haircut

Hello peeps. Sorry I haven't blogged in a while...school has kept me very busy and all my inspiration is being sucked into my projects. This is a good thing, but doesn't leave much for the blog. I've had to put some dreams (fawn... always rethinking the idea) on hold until a breather presents itself.
Anyhoo... my hair is WAY too long and I'm getting a haircut. Today. I love my long hair, but its so long that sometimes it looses it shape. I won't be cutting it short, just trimming off some weight [my hair is heavy].
Here's a pic of today's hair (i'm having a fabulous hair day... makes me not want to cut it, but this doesn't always happen) . Forgive the lack of smile btw. haha
I'll post back with an after shot. Stay tuned. :)
